High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a thermoplastic made from petroleum and known for its strength-to-density ratio. The absence of “branching” in this product results in a more tightly-packed structure with high density and chemical resistance. HDPE is a semi-flexible membrane that will elongate before breaking, making it a very good liner choice.

Advantages of HDPE liners

  • Excellent corrosion and impact resistance
  • Food contact acceptable
  • Chemical-resistant
  • Prevents pollution of soil and groundwater
  • Good impact and abrasion resistance

Applications for HDPE liners

  • Sanitary landfill liners
  • Chemical containment
  • Hydraulic applications such as canals and bank reinforcements
